(330 ml bottle). ABV of my bottle was 9,2%. Nearly black (= dark ruby when held to the light), good to moderate creamy tan head. Started drinking it too cold, surprisingly weak initial aroma, improves as the beer warms up - malty, but not very complex. Flavour is malty sweet with burnt notes - not nearly as cloying as EKU 28 (thank God!) but also less complex. Alcohol is well hidden. OKish mellow aftertaste. Good beer, but it doesn't exactly take my breath away.

Thanks to my brother in law for this beer and thanks to my neighbor for sharing. This was a big heavy beer. Has the mouthfeel of a barleywine and the flavor was sweet with notes of caramel. A nice treat.

Clear dark ruby, thick lacing light brown foam head. Heavy caramel aroma with barley and nutty tones. Strong alcohol presence, light caramel taste, a good bock. (Houston 201501)

Lots of malt here....sort of like an imperial marzen. You can taste the alcohol, so not hidden quite well. Flavor is heavy caramel, bread, maybe some burnt sugar. Mild hops, but just enough to take the edge off the sweetness. Good value for what you get. Would sample again.

Beer share from my brother-in-law. Dark brown pour, short light tan head, little lacing. Ripe plums, chocolate, big burnt caramel, earthy hops all in the nose and flavors. Rich and the ABV is fairly well-hidden. Very good dessert beer. Thanks Jim.

Malty aroma has a strong overtone of caramel, rather sweet. Pours a barely translucent chestnut with a fairly thick tan head. Mouth-filling flavor has a malty core with notes of caramel and cloves, a hint of fruit, a fairly strong alcohol bite, rather sweet. Somewhat syrupy texture has a fair amount of fizz and leaves a sweet, edgy, malty finish. Prosit!

pours a very dark brown hue with nice frothy tan foam head. The aroma is rich, fruity with hints of raisin, raspberry and tobacco. The taste is rich malt flavor which lends a nice fruitiness to the whole thing. The mouthfeel is big, roamy body with a good silkiness and a big carbonation.

Wow! Thanks, Chris... truly outstanding and reminiscent of drinking around Europe... dates, plum and licorice... malty sweet with just the right amount of bite. Deep bronze color, no head, no lacing. A great night cap.

It pours a non-transparent dark-brown with thick light-tan head and copious lace. A malty aroma of chocolate milk, brown sugar, subtle hop precense, oranges, earthiness, and light spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth and average-bodied. Flavors of caramel malts, chocolate, coffee, orange, light molasses, subtle alcohol warming effect, and choice spices. Very good!

Good Eisbock. A real malt atomic bomb. I’m not sure that I’d ever want more than one in a sitting. There’s not a ton to say about it. It tastes like a bock extract, all candied dates, raisins, brown sugar and syrupy French toast. It’s much more of a straight German malt sweetness than the Aventinus banana bread treacle, though both are pleasant in their own right. I’m probably being generous on appearance. The head is a joke but I’ll give it the benefit of style comparison. Good beer for a cold, hungry night.
