Pours slightly hazy topaz with a thick and persistent cream head. Aroma offers resiny hops, raw malt and grapefruit notes. Flavor echoes the aroma but with more piney hops and a hint of - is that passionfruit? Mouthfeel delivers firm, smooth body and jazzy fizz. Hop up to the bar for one.

    22oz bottle -

I really wish this was available in 12oz bottles/6-packs because this would rival SN IMO, and is a better option. An aggressively hopped beer, balanced by a nice showing of malts and barely balanced enough to call it a pale ale. Aroma is incredibly citrusy and it doesn't stray too far from that. Clean, refreshing bitterness on the palate, lots of citrus and hop resin, subtle piney sap too. The malts provided seems to also give it a tropical fruit-like taste at times. My only issue is the price, and I'm sure there's tons of hops used in the beer but because of the price I don't get to visit this as often as I would like.

Citra Extra Pale Ale Sampled on 4/28/2012. This pale ale pours a medium copper gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is citrusy, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. A fairly aggressively hopped APA the hop bitterness stays around a while. Good carbonation. Nice crisp and clean beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is bitter.

A very nice example to showcase the yumminess that is the Citra Hop. Smooth and very aromatic and flavorful, without the bitterness usually associated with such an explosion of hops. tropical fruit citrus, buttery feel, lingering aftertaste. very nice for a pale, and a single hop pale at that!
