The olde world label was an attraction in selecting this one. A dark opague black beer with shades of brown through the glass. The tannish-white head is robust and frothy, but has no hang time, settling into an unimpressive lacing. Mouthfeel is smooth. Roasted malts and a nuttiness rise to the nose. The flavor is all about sweetness, that of toasted malts and chocolate.

Nice aroma here with figs, brown sugar, molasses, sweet malt, and figs coming through on the nose. The appearance is a deep reddish-burgundy in color when held to the light with a small head on top that is light-tan in color and leaves decent lacing on the glass that is well carbonated. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with a huge malty backbone with no hops coming through at all with a palate that is coating and wet-like and not too bad considering the style. The flavor is of raisin, figs, dark fruits, sweet malt as well as bready overtones with an aftertaste that is smooth, salty, and a bit cloying with a finish that warranted considering the style. Overall, not a bad beer here but I am just not a fan of these massive maltster brews and I need more balance; nonetheless, if it was oktoberfest in Bavaria, or if it was the right time of year this would be a great brew to indulge in...

This brew poured a nice burgundy with a medium head that didnt last and no lace. The aroma is really sweet of chocolate nutty malts. It tasted kinda like a soda. the flavor is sweet. the mouthfeel is thin. its an ok beer.

I was rather taken with the Kláster Premium from this brewery, and had a good feeling about trying out it's darker brother. Surprisingly, me being the pessimist that I am, I don't find this disappointing. Not quite as distinct and cut-and-dry as it's sibling, but no significant faults IMO.
Naturally, looks dark -- Dr Pepper, anyone? -- without really having to say alot. Enough gumption in the head to stick around, even if it didn't want to stick to the insides of my glass for lacing.
Very similar to the other beer I had from this brewery, as far as the flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel go. That is to say, quite bready and warmish -- no complaints there.
Would have liked to have found some more distinctive hop characteristics. Yeah, I know it's trying to be a darker version of the typical Czech-Saaz dynamic duo, but seems a little muted, just the same. Intentional or not, this does leave the palate clear to enjoy the malt profile -- and the overall drinkability in the finish.
Entirelly decent and quaffable. Not your typical Czech and/or Slovak lager -- and in this case, that works to it's advantage IMO....
Music: Coroner's "Grin".

Dark brown color. Small sized white head. Aroma is dark malts and nutty. A light bodied dunkel. Malts are nutty and sweet. Hops are slightly spicy. That said, this beer is WAY too watery. The flavor is nice, but it’s obscured by all that water flavor. Still it has a nice roasty maltyness and a nice dry finish. Mouthfeel is watery and a touch thin. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet

Molassis colored, like cola with a smallish off white head. Aroma is of sweet syrup and dark, dried fruits. Mouthfeel is very smooth, soft and somewhat coating like honey. Seems a little flat and uninteresting to me. Flavor is sweet and simple, and a little thin. If raisins were made with nutrasweet, this is how they would taste. Also resembles watered-down maple syrup blended with sweet tea. I don't care for it much, but for some it might be okay.

This is a very tasty brew. It is very dark in color. The beer pours with a fair head that dissipates quickly. The beer has a nice flavor. It is a bit spicy with a nice, slightly sweet, roasted malt flavor.

Sampled from bottle. This Czech lager pours a dark ruby-chocolate in color. The head is tan and scattered. The aroma is worty (molasses)with a hint of spicy noble hops. Medium-bodied and not exactly smooth because of the slightly excessive carbonation. Flavor is very rich and is dominated by caramel malts. Coffee notes in the background. Sweet malt finish. A good beer.
