Getting up early and dragging dead fish around all day is a tough gig. That’s why we want to pay homage to the hard working fish mongers down on Baldwin Street. This IPA is big, assertive and full of attitude…not too unlike the characters slicing and dicing today's catch. A wonderfully floral and citrus nose comes by way of an excessive dose of West-coast hops. The big malt bill achieves a chewy body with a sweet finish. Meant to be enjoyed in moderation, this beer is perfect…anytime. Colour: 16srm – deep amber IBU – 65 ABV – 7% Aroma – Massive floral hops and grapefruit/passionfruit. Mild caramel. Hops – Chinook, Amarillo, Citra and dry hopped with more Amarillo. Malt – Canadian 2 row, Caramunich and crystal malt + a few other secrete ingredients. Ideal serving temperature – 12-14C (54-57f) Tasting notes – Sweet caramel body, grainy with lingering bitterness. Hop-forward.

$8.50 for a 500 ml can!. That's airport pricing for you. Served too cold, of course. Coppery pour, some haze, with a creamy ivory head. Aroma was maybe the best thing with this one, floral hops, generous citrus grapefruit, and pine resin. Flavour not all that bad, nicely bitter bite. Pine notes in play. Mouthfeel improved as the temperature rose. Some caramel sweetness at the finish. Not a go-to beer but quite drinkable.

Pours a huge frothy off-white head and has an amber coppery appearance. Nice dirty lacing. Aromas of floral and citrus hops. Flavours are roasted malts, citrus hops. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Slight bitterness. Astringent sensation. Fairly mild hoppiness but still pretty good. Goes down smooth.

Single can from the LCBO. Pours a clean dark amber colour with a big frothy warm cap that lasts a very, very long time and gives out dirty lace. Sweet malty nose with some grassy hops, balancing caramel with grapefruit. Starts on a sweet malt like the aromas, but seems like roasted malts balance things. It then ends up in a hoppy finish. The sharp bitterness gets stronger as it lingers into the aftertaste. A nicely balanced IPA between the sweet malt and hoppy bitterness.

The beer pours a slightly hazed golden-red with a frothy light tan cap. The aroma is citrusy hops, caramel, and grass. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with mild carbonation. Flavour is grapefruit, light caramel, and some grainy notes. Very nice, but missing the hop bite. -

On Tap @ Milos Beer Emporium - pours a reddish-gold with a sticky white cap - shows good retention and laces the glass well. Aroma is grapefruit over grains and a light apricot-apple fruity tone. Medium body with a nice chew of semi sweet Crystal and caramel malt in front which is perfectly balanced with piney-citrus West Coast hopping - finish gets dry and bitter with a nice Willamette bite at the end. A first class West Coast IPA, I think this brewer recreated Sierra Nevada IPA by accident.
