We brew Oktoberfest in tribute to the world’s biggest beer party. Vienna and Munich malts produce the deep golden color, nutty undertones, and toasted malt flavors characteristic of this renowned Bavarian beer style. Perle hops imported directly from the Hallertau region of Germany give the beer a smooth balanced finish. This celebratory lager puts the ‘fest’ in the month of October. What started as a community celebration of a royal Bavarian wedding in 1810 has turned into a beer tradition like no other. Over 16 days each fall, some 6 million people head to Munich, don lederhosen and funny hats, gather in enormous tents, and drink oversized steins of beer. We brew this beer true to the original style so you can enjoy some Oktoberfest cheer from the other side of the planet.

More toasted malt aroma and roast than caramel in the nose and flavor than your traditional marzen. So not prototypical of the style, and a little weak in feel and finish. But...the malt profile is totally enjoyable, and this was a decent beer.

Sampled on 12/8/2009. This marzen pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and floral. A medium bodied marzen. The malts are caramel, bready and sweet. The hops are floral and earthy. Kind of benign and inoffensive tasting beer, not a whole lot of flavor. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Appearance: This pours a dark golden color with a quickly disappearing white head. Aroma: There isn't much nose here, but I could detect a slightly malty smell Taste: It was smooth and a bit malty. This beer is subtle, with no strong flavors. Maybe 'benign' is a better word? In other words, it's certainly not world class, but it's not offensive.

The first taste of this was not good at all. But, after I became accustomed to it it was much better. A bold flavored beer. I bought this this the first week in september so i feel pretty special considering the commercial description says its not available till the last friday in september.
