Hefe-Weizen ( meaning " wheat with yeast " ). This Bavarian style Weiss ( wheat ) is highly effervescent with a fluffy white head. Brewed using wheat, pale and Munich malt, it is unfiltered, hence cloudy. Fruity and tart in the mouth, with hints of lemon, while the dominant aromas are of banana and clove.

140 ml, on tap at the brewpub. Poured in a tasting glass an unfiltered and cloudy golden-orange coloured HW with a half a finger fine , dense and close to white coloured foamed head that had no end and tons of micro bubbles. Active carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is wheaty malts, spicy, strong cloves and ginger, and fruity with a banana touch. The flavour is grainy wheaty malts, fruity, bananas, spicy, cloves, ginger, peppery notes. The mouthfeel is light crispy and clean. The texture is watery. This medium bodied Hefeweizen has a long wheaty and spicy finish. An interesting Irish intrusion into a marked German style
