Of great character, very bitter and has a strong toasted candy flavor. Of a long-lasting, spicy and fruity mouth finish. Dark amber with a light head.

Picked this up because I had never heard of it before and it was on sale. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin, off-white head. Not much in the way of aroma but some dark fruits and a bit of spice are noticeable. Taste is fruity and bitter but I notice some sourness as well--not sure if this was intended or if the beer is going bad (still tastes fine to me). Overall, an interesting beer but not sure if it correctly falls in the amber ale category. Probably not something I would seek out again but I wouldn't mind trying other offerings from this brewery.

I can't really say why I plunked down nearly $7.00 for this bottle. Maybe it was because it was new? Perhaps because it looked cool? And if I had remembered my beginning h.s. Spanish 101, I would have remembered this was a red ale. Which means it was probably gonna suck. And while the end result wasn't suckage, it was far, far from greatness.

The beer pours out dark copper colored beer, mostly clear with a very smallish sized head. Aroma of apples/cider was most prominent, with a touch of caramel and aspirin infused water. Flavors were metallic, slight nutty bitterness and that's about where the show ends. Way over-carbonated for my liking, it was almost like hearing someone pour a soft-drink there was so much noise. Pass.
