Jan. 2010 - Deep maroon color with frothy head. Immensely fruity aroma. The flavor was dark fruity, most notably dark cherries and grapes with almost a winelike character. A lot of bready notes, hints of cocoa and a strong yeasty presence. Sweet, yet subtle. I liked it.

Poured a full brown color, hazy, some red hues, and a nice off-white to tannish colored head. The aroma was beautiful, wonderful dark fruits (cherries, plums) blended under a bready, yeasty malt base, like a rich dubbel, finishing with some phenolic notes, a balanced spicey-sweetness in the end. Not as dry as I recall the Cannibal, but I liked it as much, regardless of what everyone else thought of the Cannibal. Excellent brew, go get a growler for the Superbowl!
