From Ladner BCLDB, 330ml bottle. Clear gold pour under a white head. Grassy aroma and grassy flavour, too. Maybe a suggestion of oak to the flavour, or maybe not. Decent mouthfeel and finish. Some alcohol is evident, too.

Not a huge fan of the vanilla. Poured a nice size creamy head. Light golden appearance, pretty clear. Can taste the vanilla almost immediately. Aftertaste kinda leafy. Aroma about the same as taste. Some malts. Notes of spices in the finish. Strong vanilla scent and flavour. Certainly not my kinda beer, but not gross either.

This was a gateway beer for me 5 or 6 years ago, and for that reason it gets some cred, but really I remember now why I avoided this beer for the last couple years. Its sooooooo sweet, in a brown sugar simple syrup way, and a minor light carmel malt way. so much vanilla. I feel like if there is such a thing as oak "extract" this is it. everything it should be, but fake and unbalanced for some reason. a nice medium bodied mouthfeel i would like to attribute to the oaks tannins, but I cant justify it in my mind. o well.

330 ml clear bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Golden colour, moderate white head. The aroma is first Heineken-like and grassy ("thanks" to the clear bottle), then some sweetish vanilla notes come through. The flavour is fairly sweet with citrussy notes, also strong notes of vanilla, moderate notes of wood. Very moderate hops in the aftertaste.

330 ml bottle. Poured a clear copper brown colored ale with a two fingers white creamy foamy head that had a good retention. Active carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is slight grainy smoked malts, woody, oak, floral hops. The flavour is smoked malts, fruity, citrus, lemon and spicy, chily. The mouthfeel is creamy, prickling and denote the presence of alcohol. With " only " 6.0 % it is really dominant and warming. This medium bodied ale has a lingering hoppy bitter finish. This ale has a certain relationship with the well-known drink of Scotland.

My new fave as of late. Always prefered Scottish brews to the rest of the Isles and this one was no exception. A glorious grassy aroma gave way to a vanilla taste that had me at hello. Great look and body as well. If this beer were a woman she'd be a trophy wife.

I'm not sure why I&G uses that glass bottle. Sure it has a nice shape, and you can see what you're drinking - but it ruins the beer. This is a non-descript beer that pours out a clear dark golden colour with a grainy aroma and a grainy taste. Not good!

Always nice to see a new Innis & Gunn brew at the LCBO. Was quite surprised to see a blonde from them, but this one said "lightly oaked and with hints of vanilla"... so sounded good. Pours a golden colour with hints of orange in it. Medium head and retention with a little lacing. Full pilsener scent at first pour, then turning into grain, light fruit and nut. Nothing too strong though. The taste is pretty interesting with a fruity start, a little nut, oak and vanilla in between, and some notes of mint in the finish. A bit thick of a mouthfeel to be really refreshing, but a good session different blonde.

Bottle: Poured a deep bright golden blond color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of light vanilla and some very subtle tart notes form the oak is quite intriguing with a nice mix of pale malt. Taste is also a mix of very subtle vanilla with some pure malt and a light oak finish. Body is about average with some good carbonation. Not something I would go for very often but interesting mix nonetheless.

pours a darker gold with a small white head which leaves a good amount of sloppy lacing on the glass. smells smokey and woodsy, with a malty hint and has a sweet smokey malt flavour, with a faint hint of vanilla and oak. nice bitter finish and the alcohol warms as you swallow.
