300 ml bottle, from a grocery store in Rotterdam. ABV is 5.7%. Hazy straw colour, moderate to small white head. Wheaty sweetish aroma of yeast, coriander, cloves, banana and orange peel. Citric mouthfeel. Medium sweet wheaty flavour with the same elements as the aroma, also notes of lemons, minimal hops.

Hazy darker yellow with hugh frosty white foam head, lip sticking and lacing to glass. Aroma is like most weizeners, citrus. Taste is citrus overwhelming, with short lasting aftertaste. (Velp 201210)

300 ml capped bottle. Poured an unfiltered hazy golden-orange coloured Weizen with a three fingers slight beige creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Active carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is wheat malts, yeast, spicy, cloves and fruity, bananas, oranges, green apples. The flavour is wheat malts, yeast, spicy, coriander, a point of pepper and an unexpected sensation, fresh oysters in their salty juice ! The mouthfeel is quite watery. This light to medium bodied Weizen has a dry wheaty finish. This brew is , for me, more in a Belgian Wit style as a German Weizen.

Hertog Jan Weizener is a great beer in my opinion. It's fresh, wheaty and has a nice foamy head. When being draught in a chilled Weizener glass it looks delicious and irrestible and the low alcohol percentage makes it possible to enjoy more than just two or three in an evening. Really worth trying if you ever come across it.
