500 ml bottle, bought at KaDeWe, Berlin, as Herrnbräu Hefe Weißbier Hell. Hazy pale golden colour, enormous lasting white head. LOVELY cloves aroma, notes of citrus and banana too. Flavour has distinct cloves notes, moderate lemony notes too. Moderate body but decent for a hefe, refreshing. An excellent beer for a hot day.

Had a bottle is this after work today. And while I have to admit that it went down pretty smooth, and quenched a thirst -- it's really not that special overall.
Basically, this comes across to me as the proto-typical "basic, everyday, German layman's" Hefeweizen -- the Miller High Life of German Hefe's, if you will. That isn't saying that this is bad, by any means. No.., rather, I'm just saying that this is far from being considered "refined"..., and is more "blue collar" than "white collar", so to speak.
Standard appearence, with more foam than it knows what to do with. And the aroma is nothing that I haven't come across before in dozens of other German (and German-esqe) Hefeweizens -- banana&clove, anybody?
Even the flavor and mouthfeel is par-for-the-course. Slight wheaty/grainy texture to an otherwise typical pale beer. Nothing more, nothing less.
Not surprisingly, this beer's only strong suite is in the drinkability -- and even then, this is far from the avant-garde in that regard. Killed a thirst -- and that's about it.
A bit boring, to be honest -- but, at the same time, I didn't dislike drinking this. A very "workmanlike" Hefe, if ever there was one.

Bottle. Poured a hazy, dark yellow colur, with bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet, wheat, cloves, bannana and bubblegum. Nice and smooth. Complex but well integrated mellow flavours. Some sourness, some sweetness, yeasty and slightly bitter at the finish. Very good Hefe Weissbier.
