Move over Crème Brûlée and Apple Pie – dessert has a new look! We’ve teamed up once again with our friends of the Society of Beer Drinking Ladies to bring you a sweet, winter treat. Packed with cocoa nibs, vanilla and graham cracker extract, this is truly a liquid cookie in beer form. Notes of chocolate, sweet vanilla and molasses make way for a lingering, roasted coffee finish. Clean (gets a little hazed after a few pours), dark brown colour with ruby-copper highlights. The big head is frothy, warm-beige, fizzing away slowly and leaving some thick foamy lacing. The porter aromas of roasted malts and dark fruits come out as a base. The taste shows the roasted barley with coffee notes and the artificial Graham cracker extracts seem to be gone from cellaring a bit too long. Some chocolate malts show up in the background. Hints of coconut. Wish it was a little more alcohol content to keep longer.
