The beer actually ended up being exactly what I was looking for and expecting. Like Heineken it still thing and light bodied though refreshing and crisp despite its obvious lacking in complexity. Light, silky mouthfeel and enjoyable flavor. The only downside is the rather high cost for what could be a nice, malty goto beer. Certainly worth trying and enjoyable, but there are better beers in this price range.

Better than regular Heineken but that doesn't say much--at least it is missing Heineken's trademark skunky aroma and taste. The best part about this beer is that I once traded a bottle while tailgating for a steak hot off the grill.

Pours dark amber with short lived white head. The aroma is of caramel and a lot of dark fruit. The taste is similar to aroma with mostly fruit and caramel, slight hint of hops. Short, sweet finish. The mouthfeel is light and smooth. This is ok beer but nothing real special here.

This was from a recommendation and I think that it was ok. The base Heieneken flavor was ever present but the roasr malts added more prestige to this than i thought it would. It was nice in the mouth semi heavy but smooth. The after taste kinda gets you. be ready but after three its all good. woulod like to find this in 12 pack of something larger than a 6 pack.

A nicely rich brownish-red colored beer. A thick, robust, tannish head. Decent hang time. Settles into a soapy lacing. Aroma presents malt and yeast. Light body, short of being watery. Some creaminess in that body. The taste is the sweetness of malt and caramel. As it warmed a metallic aftertaste ruined the initially pleasant experience.

I prefer this over the regular Heineken lager, but I think it is mainly because I prefer dark beers. The flavor is more syrupy of course: caramely, malty, maybe a little bit more hops to offset the sweets. Pours an copper-medium brown color. Not heavy though like a lot of other dark beers. They don't offer it at a lot of places, especially with the flood of micro-brews flooding the market lately, but if they ever say "Heineken", ask if they have Heineken Dark if you haven't tried it yet. Worth the try for sure if you like the regular Heiny Lager.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. The pour is a dark, ruddy colour with a small tan head. The head goes quickly and leaves some lacing. Smells detected are fruity with sweet tones, like molasses. The taste includes fruit, molasses, coffee and chocolate. There is very little bitterness, and a bit of a burnt taste takes over at the finish. Mouthfeel is medium with quite a bit of carbonation. Although it goes down well enough, I would drink more than one in a sitting if not for the annoying burnt taste in the finish that lingers seemingly forever. Drinkability suffers because of the aftertaste. It's not bad; I've had worse that cost more than this. It won't be one of my regulars or even semi-regulars, though.

THis is equally as nasty as the regular Heinny. Don't waste your time or precious cash on this over-rated, over-hyped nasty, funky beer. It has virtually no texture.

Pours a dark brown with hints of red. Mild aroma of hops, berries, raisins, and spice. Mouthfeel is smooth, frothy, and full-bodied. Flavor of malts, raisins, and spice. Pretty good, beats regular Heineken.

I think it overall is good. i don't really have much of a selection where i live. Around here i am stuck with the normal coors/miller/bud trash. It is by far better than them so i drink it somewhat often. Decent Flavor and a good aroma. Also it has a good smooth feel while drinking.

Pretty bland overall. This brew pours a deep copper- reddish brown with a very sweet malted aroma. A mildly woody taste with a soft creamy finish.
