Nose of toasted malt, pine, and bubblegum. Pours a deep copper body with a caramel colored head with good retention and decent lace. Mouth is a bit thin but well carbonated and nicely slick. Lots of rye in the flavor profile. The hops are bittering, there is a sweet note half way through. Alcohol is present and warming. There is a funk to this flavor that I can't put my finger on but is related to the bublbegum nose, it hints at a Belgium farmy yard flavor. Not my cup of tea but well done.

Aroma of rye, smoke and lemon. Full/slick/sticky mouthfeel. Clear dark copper colour. Head fades to a slim cap but laces well. Flavour is a great mix of bitter sweetness as suggested. Sweet caramel malt to start followed by grapefruit, rye, pine, grass and smoke. Great all round beer gives you a bit of a buzz after a 12hr night shift

I am really digging on rye beers at the moment so finding a rye DIPA was very exciting. This is a great beer with the rye and malt sweetness really balancing out the hop bitterness. Not as hoppy as I expected but the end result is still very good.

Holy Hanukkah! It's a glorious world we live in that beers like this exist. Sweet, citrusy, resiny hop aroma, and the colour of a fine brandy. The bitter hops blend well with the smoky, honey citrus flavour. The rye is in the background, where it belongs, but it's still an orchestra of delicious.

Didn't know what to expect here, not a Rye fan at all, but this was fantastic. On Tap at the Green Dragon Portland. Dark caramel smell, surprisingly bitter, but also very smooth. Almost creamy in texture. The bitterness fades with time, citrus, a bit of smoke and some slight lemon/

Woah. Pours ruby red with a foamy foamy white head and lacing for days. Aroma is piney malt. Mouthfeel has got some hops. Flavor is hoppy, sweet, citrus, and pine. Just smoked a cigar which probably isn't helping the case.

This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma contains some caramel, perfume, and citrus. The flavor is well balanced but nothing over the top with either the hops or the malt. Some caramel and citrus flavors. Not the best IIPA I’ve had, but a good beer anyway.

People want to hear about it Betty! Again, another beer at The Malt House. Pours a clear orangeis. Aoma is dank, boozet and scarey. I wish it wasn't this situation, beer is so intimidating. I love i, oak, smoke, orange and fermented fruits. Thaniks Becky! "Tonight's the Night- Betty Wright"

From Firefly. Poured a creamy, ivory head over a body of rich copper. Aroma was just plain powerful, with both hops and malt at the forefront. Taste was less extreme than expected, but still with a lot of hop and the high ABV was also evident. Smooth mouth and nice finish. A joy to dirnk.

Almost every rating here is over 4, and I can see why. One fine DIPA! Very well balanced. Sometimes rye beers are overly sweet, but this works nicely. Not the hoppiest DIPA, but sometimes I like it that way. It's about the maltiness on this one....although there's a decent hop finish at the end. Appearance is on the gold/copper side with a bit of a red hue. Some pine and citrus in the aroma. Will probably buy a 4-pack of this since I only bought one 12 oz. to sample first.
