Leftovers ... We aged some Chuck (sort of a brown-bretty) in wooden barrels with sour cherries for six months. It emerged with a somewhat subdued brett presence but tastes more like a flemish sour. 6.4% abv. (33 cases in 750ml)

Bring on the sour ales! This one poured a murky brown color. The aroma contains some vinegar, brown sugar, and cherries. I detected some sweet notes in this one but overall it stayed true to its sour roots. The woody presence is definitley there with some cherries and other malty goodness. I think this has aged ok. Overall a nice beer.

Poured a hazy reddish amber color with a thin, light tan head that left some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma was funky, some sour cherries, brett, horseblanket, and leather. Taste was not as overpowering, but still decent. Some tart cherry, grapeskin, green apple, caramel, nuts, and tons of dry oak in the finish.

This Flemish sour pours a medium orange gold from a 750ml bottle. Small sized to no head. Aroma is barnyard and cherries. A medium bodied ale. Malts are caramel and sweet, lots of barnyard, bretts and fruit. Kind of tart, musty, oaky and barnyardy. Cherries are semi sweet. A little weak in the finish, but a very interesting beer. Would like to see how this one ages. Mouthfeel is slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
