Harpoon Grateful Harvest is a beer brewed with Thanksgiving celebrations in mind. A puree of freshly harvested cranberries, donated by local cranberry farm AD Makepeace, lends a subtle tartness to the beer. The cranberry flavor complements the malty character derived by the combination of Munich and Vienna malts. An addition of CaraMunich malt enhances the beer’s reddish hue and adds a touch of sweetness, while Northern Brewer bittering hops complement the slight cranberry tartness.

    A bright amber colored beer with a moderate sudsy textured light brige head. There's some hang time on the head. Light film and thin ringlet are left. Not getting a lot in the nose. The cranberry, light and watery comes out in the tasting.

    Amber body, 1/2" bubbly head and spotty lace. Thin and empty with a touch of medicine throughout. Tart cranberry, grass, with hints of cardboard and metal. Not worthwhile, and I was hoping for much more.

    It pours a nice auburn color with a small white head that lasts throughout most of the beer. There is a faded, spotty lacing. The smell is not overpowering with the cranberry. The taste is very smooth and has a very little amount of fruit in it. There are some malts involved. The hops are unnoticeable. The mouthfeel has a nice carbonation that has a slightly dry finish. Overall, this is ok but where are the cranberries?

    Had this before and with christmas dinner over at ma's friends sherry and ronnies (deep fried pork tenderloin and spiral ham) .. . pours a deep amber .. light foam .. light cranberry, light light molasses, and fruit pits .. . it goes down easy but a tad muddled and not fruity enough .. . . herb!! no madam, its herbert, i'm not a seasoning!!

    I enjoyed this, especially for a fruit beer. Advertised as a "Cranberry Amber", which sounds about right. I thought it would be overdone on the Cranberry, sort of like Samuel Adam's Cranberry Lambic....but this works better for me. Suttle fruit flavor more as a background to the Boston/New England style ale or ESB. Good hop finish and smooth mouthfeel. Was a little hesitant to sample a single, but this is something I would get again.
