a decent medium to thin bodied APA...nice use of hops, although there could have been a bit more of them. not a lot of mat balance. flavor doesn't linger long afterwards. ok.

One of the three 22-oz bombers that I brought back with from me and Karen's honeymoon to the Lake Tahoe region; the fact that she didn't mind me not only bringing beer back with me, but that we visitied a brewpub during our honeymoon, is one of the many reasons that I married her... ;)
Was able to pop the bottle cap off of this *way too* easily -- who the heck needs a bottle opener with caps like this? And, as I suspected, the beer within wasn't really carbonated as much as I would have liked. But it wasn't flat, and it wasn't oxidized, so no harm, no foul.
Fairly floral in the aroma, that matched up with the piney/resiny hoppiness in the flavor profile. A little sweet in the middle, and a little acidic in the back-end, though. In other words, a Pale Ale that doesn't quite fit the mold of the typical West Coast Pale Ale -- for better *and* worst.
However, when push comes to shove, this wasn't all that bad. Kinda grew on me, it did. A bit crude in the grand scheme of things -- I can think of any number of better Pale Ales, from all parts of the country. But for something new and different from a part of California that I spent many of my formative years in, this isn't that bad...

Medium gold color. Medium head. Aroma is malty and slightly hoppy. A medium bodied pale ale. Malts are slightly sweet. Hops are fairly bitter and citrusy, but not over the top. Well balanced. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
