Our brewmaster, Jef Versele, crafted this exclusive Gulden Draak Brewmasters Edition as a tribute to his grandfather Jozef Van Steenberge and the 230th birthday of the brewery. His inspiration came from his numerous trips to the United States and his deepest respect for the craft beer culture. This exclusive Gulden Draak combines the technology and the craftsmenship of the traditional brewing process. By letting the beer mature on whiskey barrels it gives it a distinctive and gental finish that you have never tasted before.

330 ml bottle, as Gulden Draak Brewmaster, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10.5%. Amber colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, kandij sugar syrup, mild spices, a hint of oak. Soft and rich mouthfeel. The medium sweet flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but the oaky notes are more pronounced now. Pleasant to drink.

Just no point in reviewing this brew because I just didn't care for it at all. Perhaps it might be better out of a bottle. Instead of out of a keg. I don't want to knock the product because I'm use to drinking out of a bottle. And that might make a big difference in the taste. Update 10/23/2015 just opened a bomber and there is no comparison to the draft. This is fantastic bottle is was made during the third edition and Jan .2015 I'm changing my rating to reflect the bottle not the draft which I only gave a 3.2

Neighbor who works at Total Wine & More brought this home to share. Solid representation of the style. Pretty bubbly. Looks like peach nectar....semi-thick and murky medium orange color. Alcohol well hidden for 10.5%. It's a strong ale, aged on whiskey, but not super heavy and overly sweet. Actually the whiskey flavor is barely noticeable, but does balance it out somewhat. A smooth great-tasting beer.
