This beer is named after the great Norwegian explorer Erik the Red who led a group of colonists from Iceland to Greenland in the mid 980’s. The nose is light with hints of fruit and caramel malt. The flavor is complex yet refreshing as the flavors waltz across the tongue finishing clean and refreshing.

A very cloudy burnt gold more so than a red. A mild almost non existant aroma, some malt and hops. A very thin beer with some flavors of malt and hops but overall not what I would want in a red.

Sampled on draught at the brewpub: Pours a muddy brown colour with no head. Aroma is nutty, caramel and fermenting apples and toffee on the nose. Taste is soff dry, slightly fruitywith notes of coffee and spice on the palate.
