San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Our Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It's all about the hops! Pours a nice clear amber with a thick, if not too persistent, eggshell head. Aroma is seriously hoppy, with firm yeasty and grapefruit notes. Fierce flavor is hoppy but surprisingly not very bitter, with a strong and sour grapefruit tone and a yeasty underpinning plus an alcohol bite one cannot ignore. Texture is smooth, fairly firm, fairly fizzy, leaving a hoppy, yeasty, and slightly slimy finish. Darn good, if not outstanding - still, go ahead and put it away.

Pours pale amber with short, creamy head, thick lacing remains. Pine and grapefruit dominate the aroma. The flavor is brightly evergreen with citrus and floral character. Quite bitter with a nice, clean finish. Full-medium body, well carbonated, gently warming. Solid beer; I will certainly pick this up again.

A brught golden orange colored beer with a big fluffy textured, off white head. There's some hang time on the head. Settles into a thick ringlet and low lying sticky film. A piney hops nose. More pines and floral hops dominate in the tasting. Light, clean, effervescent.

pours a cloudy, hazy golden orange with a nice small white head. The armoa is a mix of piney and tropical hops. I get hints of pineapple and tangerine that blends with pine. The aroma is rather fragrant without being overpowering. The taste at first, it's slightly sweet as the pineapple is the dominant flavor. As the beer continues, a slight pine bitterness makes itself known without being overpowering. The pine becomes stronger in the finish leaving a slight bitter aftertaste. The mouthfeel is lighly carbonated with a slight stickiness to it. Has a lighter body that makes it easy to continue to have drink after drink.

I wrote down corn. Drinking in a goblet, the taste is fantastic, but every single gulp has something like putrid corn in my nose. Cant figure it out, after rather intense scrutiny, I have found jeffs rate beer review ssying armpits. I cant get over it. Realistically this beer is very good, its just has something in the aroma that is decidely terribly. The beer though.... The bottle says Nuggets and Summits. I think Summits Amarillos and Citras. Nuggets? I cant see the notes, maybe thats the armpits/putrid corn? Lemons and coriander in a decidedly not wit way, just sharp and tart. The alcohol is not really hidden, the malts and alcohol work with eachother similair to Brooklyns Monster Ale: the heat makes the beer bigger than it is, brings out the carmel malts and emparts a grand marnier like character. Really the heat works to the beers advantage. Stiil smooth and drinks well. On the thicker side of the mouth feel. There is some apple tartness coming out, something vaguely reminescent of champagne yeast, just dont drink in a goblet, the putrid corn haunts me (maybe urine when hing over from white wine).

Classic example of the coveted west coast Double IPA. Bone dry malt profile allowing the fresh resinous hops to shine. Strong and potent, it's a bomber that demands respect yet drinks with ease.

Plenty of pine resin and citrus in the aroma and flavor, although present the malts werent so overbearing, which is a good thing in a IIPA. Body was thick but not syrupy, the thick head left nice lace. Overall a nice beer by Green Flash.

Very deceiving at 9%. Tastes like 7. Not oily like all the other imperials. Easy to drink from a starting beer if nothing else suits you up to a great last beer looking for and end cap. I like em' strong but drinkable and in my taste, this beer is in the top 5.

Pours clear, gold color with a foamy, off white head. Citrus and piney hops on the nose. Grapefruit and melon upfront followed by piney hops ending in a pleasant, dry, bitter finish, which sticks around for quite a while. A bit astringent with a medium to full mouthfeel. Need to try again.

It pours a light hazy golden with thin white head and copious lace. An aroma of fresh malts, hops, orange and grapefruit, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is smooth, silky, and rich. Flavors of fresh malts, hops, pine, grapefruit, and spices. Good, good drinking ...
