This style of dark porter originated in London, England just prior to the industrial revolution and was named after the hard working porters who laboured the London docks. Our Limited Release ale is a deep dark brown color with a hint of red and presents coffee-like roasted malt flavours and a dry finish. This savoury porter destined for folklore is enough to sustain any Vancouverite through rain or shine.

Oh! From an almost headless begining, the rest of this beer poured out into a very dark brown or darkest of dark amber, although not so dark that when held up to the light that you couldn't detect some transparency. Aroma was not strong yet one could still discern some pleasing hints of dark chocolate. Taste featured again the chocolate along with perhaps burnt coffee and/or malts. Mouth was above average for a porter, being more robust than expected. Finish had some hoppy "bite". One of GI's nicer seasonals of late, bettering some of their flops of recent years.
