500 ml bottle- Decants a transparent rusty orange, topped with a huge mound of eggshell froth. A bit of lace. Nose is Grand River all the way. Lots of mineral, biscuit malts, fresh pine and hops, some tropical fruit. Malty flavour profile has caramel, some fruity sweetness, balanced by slight metallic pine hops. Bitter and long lasting finish, slightly fruity as well. Nice medium body is slightly creamy. Another winner from Rob and Bob. The best brewery in the province of Ontario in terms of consistency and quality.

Pours a clean copper colour with a frothy light-beige head, great retention and thick foamy lacing. Mostly smells like a irish red ale (caramel, hop) with hints of grapefruits in the background. Also in the back, some apples, burnt wood and nuts. The hops comes out more in the taste with a nice mild bitterness and dryness in the finish. Still, lots going on in the far end. Quite interesting actually. Very nice rendition of the classic style.

Poured a dark copper colour with a two finger frothy head which sticks around till the end and leaves blotches of lacing. Strong aroma of pine and grapefruit. Taste is bready, lemon and grapefruit with a nice bitter aftertaste. Smooth mouth with medium carbonation. Will try 2012 version.

The label says this should be about as fresh a bottle of beer as I've ever had. The beer pours a translucent copour colour with a thin tan ring of a head. The aroma is citrusy hops, pine, and caramel malt. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is weak grapefruity hops, sweet malt....and a lime-like taste in the finish. -

People say I can be curmudgeonly at times, so I decided to try my namesake beer. A golden orange in colour, hazy, and a fine whitish head. The aroma is pine, citrus, and caramel malts. The flavour is citrusy hops with a malt backbone, and a great bitter finish.

On tap. Pours a deep amber-gold with a 2 finger tight-pored cap...good retention, laces well. Aromas of pine, citrus, fruits and boiled cereals. A good chew of malt in the front side then an instant balancing with resinous piney hops, some fruit esters, wee bit of citrus then a clean bitter finish. This GRB offering is a good solid rendition of a Brit style IPA, mild by comparison to their executioner’s or Pac NW micro IPAs but full bodied, citrusy-piney and well balanced...very approachable. A solid offering
