Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9
500 ml capped bottle. Poured in a vase an unfiltered and hazy dark-amber-reddish-copper coloured S A with a three fingers beige, dense, fine and pillowy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is pronounced roasted and smoked malts, dark fruits, raisins, coffee and peat notes. The flavour is roasted and smoked malts, brown sugar, peat, dark bitter chocolate, spicy, cardamom, peppery and chilli notes, leather. The mouthfeel is fulled, thick, syrupy, bitter and powerful smoked. The texture is oily. This fulled S A has a long smoked and sweety-sticky finish. The aftertaste is light warming. I am under the spell of this Smoked Ale brewed in the 18 th arrondissement in Paris. Clearly a moreish Ale.
