February 2015: Shared 355 ml bottle, vintage 2010, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. ABV is 8%. Amber to brown colour. Oxidised malty aroma, reminds me a bit of Thomas Hardy’s Ale. The malty flavour is better, somewhat oxidsed but still nice, notes of oak and dark dried fruits, not very sweet though.

Bottle from d3atlanta. Light brown pour, short tight head, adequate lacing and carbonation. Aromas of Belgian yeasts, ripe fruits, some brown sugar, earthy light hops - slightly floral - with the flavor following the aromas. Thanks Sam.

Pours a murky copper color with a meager tan head that disappears in short order. Aroma is largely of caramel with some alcohol and a mild fruitiness. The caramel malt dominates the flavor, though the considerable alcohol is even more pronounced than in the nose. Some Belgian yeast, dark fruit, and vanilla can be found as well.

I picked this beer up from the Wine Gourmet in Roanoke, VA. This beer was a very nice Belgian ale. I think the main flavor is bread ... it is yeasty and bready. A very nice beer.

Sampled a 2011 bottle, pours dark brown with a thin head and lots of effervescent carbonation. Very bready aroma with some funky undertones. Tastes of dates and raisins up front with a strong sweet finish. Nice brew.

pours a glowing amber with a ruby hue on the brew with a thin layer of foam. The aroma is sweet candy fruit themes of cherries, apples, and even a banana like finish. This is a tropical boutique without the citrus. Malty with a Belgian scent. The taste is pushed aside for the aforementioned fruity candy flavor. So sweet and enjoyable that Pere becomes massively drinkable at the same time. The mouthfeel is medium body with coating flavor all over the mouth.

Sweet, fruity aroma has a brown sugar undertone and a hint of malt. It pours a clear copper brown with a thick, pale golden-tan head. Flavor is mainly fruity, with notes of apple and pear and a hint of banana, as well as subtle tones of horehound and caramel. Texture is smooth and full-bodied, though fizz leaves a little to be desired. Finish is fruity and woody. Though a winter beer, it is quite refreshing in the murderous heat of Atlanta in July.

Fun! Very true to a dubble - pours light to medium copper with a small tan foamy head. Loads of dark fruit and sweet come through in the mouth and nose. Malty, tangy finish. This is great!!

Passed on from my brother. Cloudy, dark brown pour with a medium sized tan head. Smell is sugary, with a caramel and malty smell sticking out. Toffee sweet and bready. Not something to drink a lot of but enjoyable overall.

Very sweet smelling, somewhat fruity and estery. Slightly cloudy amber with a quickly dissolving head. Flavor is actually quite malty with hints of spice and honey. Certainly not as fruity as the aroma lead me to think it would be.
