Pours a clear dark amber with a very thick yellowish buff head. Malty aroma has fruity and horehound hints. Malty and woody notes support subtle fruit and earthy tones plus a hint of clove. Firm, smooth texture has some good fizz to it. Nice with a meal - or a ball game.

Amber pour with a medium off white head. Fair amount of carbonation. Grassy aroma with a citrus note as well. Certainly not bitter taste but you taste the hops for sure. Pleasant beer for the fall. Nothing more nothing less.

Warm with a huge bread body this is one of the better American Octoberfests (wait, what? it's a bitter...nahhhhhh, really? a bitter?! oh come on, give me a break, if this is a bitter than hinterland's oktoberfest isn't a saison) Its color and flavor remind me of this time of year when ash and maple leaves are those gold and pumpkin colors and the sweet smell of moulding leaves fills the air on warm days. It has such a warm flavor it warmed me up on this bitter cold day.

Oct. 2009 - Pour was a amber/copper color with nice fluffy head and some lacing. I poured this not knowing the style. Aroma was soapy with mild hop notes. The flavor is toasty and slighty nutty with some sweet caramel and a touch of mild citrus/pine hops. Easy drinking and probably a great beer to serve as a crossover for the swill loving buddies. Really tasty!

Loved it.. Truly a refreshing beer. I would have no problem if they made this beer year round to be honest.

Smells very floral with a good amount of pine and citrus and yeast. Pours a fantastic Copper with a great white head that lasted the whole beer. Medium body with good carbonation and a very crisp finish. Flavor was subtle hops up front with a hint of citrus. Slightly bitter on the finish with good balanced malt backbone. Great Beer

This ale poured a murky copper color with a medium head that lingered, but with little lacing. the flavor was quite original, with pumpkin and citrus and spice. I really enjoyed it and wished i had more.

This is a common harvest ale, nicely done, another bravo for goose island. Pouring out a dark red-orange burnt brick color, with an aroma that is certainly pleasing especially on perhaps maybe a haystack ride or pumpkin carving, maybe after a hard days work of reaping the harvest, there is nothing else more that this beer screams besides "autumn time".

Single 12 oz bottle from a mixed pack. Label as pictured above. Deep orange color with a short but dense cream colored head. Foam lasts a long time with thick lace left on the glass. Some floral and earthy hop smell. Taste is a solid malt, biscuit and bready. Nice floral hop bitterness to balance. A bit of grapefruit in the end. I would say medium bodied, smooth, well balanced. A very drinkable ESB, perfect for a cool evening.

Had a slightly cloudy amber color with a thin head. Had a nice hoppy aroma and a subtle malt flavor which had little pine needle notes coming through. Pretty nice overall.

One of my favorites of the fall season this year. Nice copper color with a nice thick head. Aroma surprised me--very hoppy, grassy and citrusy. Similar flavor with nice bitter, earthy finish.
