Killian's Irish Red derives its distinctive red-amber color and taste from a special caramel malt that has been roasted at a high temperature longer and more slowly than most malts. There are no coloring agents or artificial additives used in brewing Killian's. The brew is known for its rich amber color and thick, creamy head.

This beer has been around for years and I’ve yet to try it. I think the name fools people into thin king it’s an Irish Ale when it is indeed a lager. The beer pours a clear metallic mahogany color, with a thin white creamy head. The aroma is strong on bread, butterscotch, and metallic acids. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor tends towards acidic and metallic as well. This is not a well made beer at all.

Nice reddish amber color to the beer with a light tan head that is usually full. Aroma isn't a standout . Not very rich in mouthfeel and the body is a bit light. Flavor is sweet and malty with just a hint of fruitiness you might expect from a red ale

Enjoyed at David's place in Vegas. Pours a deep amber colour with bubbly yellow cap, good retention and creamy-foamy lace. Malty nose with caramel and roasted malts. Hints of coffee too. Burnt malt taste that lingers, all mildly of course. Not a bad red with decent roasted malts, just a little too light overall.

Can't believe i never spotted this beer on this site. A decent red beer , very economically priced.Kind of light on color, and flavor is decent, I pick this up when i want a very smooth-easy drinking beer. Better than most of the selections in the stores.

Early 2011 bottle. Must of been a summer bbq leftover. Where is the damn born on date? Rounded pint glass. Clear, copper/amber body. Tall, soapy, cream-colored head. Smells of biscuits, weedy grass, & a dab of margarine. Taste is buttery/scratchy bread, plain cheerios, & hay. Slick & greasy, but well carbonated. No cardboard notes. Almost as good when fresh. God bless pasteurization!

Poured an amber hue, with a small white head which disappeared almost instantly. The aroma, there isn't much to it, It's not repulsive, but not much of any aroma really. Slight metallic odor (only slight). The taste is toasted malts, caramel, nutty, a little hint of honey, slight hop bitterness towards the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to high carbonation and light bodied, crisp and clean.

I was on travel with my company in Utah, and this bar had them for $1 for 16 oz. drafts. This beer has a nice reddish color, with a mid size golden head. For the price you can't beat it!

Deep golden amber with reddish tints and orange hues around the bottom and sides. Off white head with average girth and retention. Some lacing left behind. Clear with a few bubbles rising. Aromas are a bit hidden. I am detecting a slight dank, earthy hop presence. Some breadiness and touches of caramel. The taste had some dry breadiness with caramel touches. Some hop bitterness is there, but not overly present. I'm finding a cherry flavored cough syrup type of flavor as the beer starts to warm. Medium to light mouthfeel. Respectable dryness. A bit smooth and some aftertaste is left covering the palate. Not bad. This is one of the first non-standard beers I ever tried. Not as good as I remembered. May be a nice entry level Irish Red. I would choose this over any "macro", however I'm probably done experimenting with this. Not horrible, but if left to my own devices, I doubt if I choose this.

Nice amber pour. Thin 1/4" head, good lacing that follows down the glass. I found a bit of a soapy note, caramel, a little bready. I like the color very much, average mouthfeel, OK if you like this style, I am not a fan.

Bottled@The 1st Vaasa CS/ES beer session (thanks ER). Amber colour with mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is slightly fruity, rich on the bready malts, some slight floral hoppyness and grass as well. flavour is much the same with some slight sweetish notes.
