Clear dark ruby, small off-white lacing foam. Light smokey aroma and taste, light bitter aftertaste. Adding another Alt to my list, great fun. (Velp 201604)

Dark copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is strong malts and hops, a bit to the sweeter side. Flavour is malts, harsh hoppyness and some sweetish notes. Quite watery palate. Finish and aftertaste is dominated by bittering hops.

Re-rate, November '06: Just as nice as the first time. Good hop balance, somewhat dry finish, clean and crisp, very drinkable. Lighter in body than other alts if you want to knock it on anything, but this was really refreshing after a long day of work and 36hrs of no sleep. Original rating, August '05: A fine altbier from the Krefeld-Dueseldorf area, this one poured a dark / deep copper color with a head that was very respectable, which provided outstanding lacing, and which lasted the ENTIRE drink. The malty sweet base was a great balance to a somewhat hoppy finish that was dry and enjoyable. The clean lager - hoppy approach to a blanced beer sure exceeds the american pale lager approach. As far as session beers go, I don't know that you can do much better than altbiers. Mmmmm mmmmm good.

clear amber-brown colour, fine creamy head, no lace, discreet aroma of caramel and flowers, buttery, moderate maltiness, dry and slightly bitter finish - lacks of character

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown 'alt' coloured. Tan head. Malty, caramel aroma, slight bready smell as well. Flavour is caramel with light malt and some fruit. Slight metallic edge. Thin to medium mouthfeel. Quite dry, with a slightly bitter finish. Good altbier.
