Troisième bière collaborative de la série, on a décidé de travailler avec nos amis de 5e Baron pour recréer un style de bière français disparu au début de la première guerre mondiale: le "Porter de Lyon" ou "Porter lyonnais". C'est un type de bière qui est apparu dans la seconde moitié du 18e siècle à Lyon en France et son invention est attribuée à un certain Christophe Bechtel. Il existe malheureusement peu de littérature sur le sujet et les écrits de Dave Janssen, auteur talentueux du blog brassicole Hors Catégorie Brewing, nous ont grandement aidé à redessiner une recette la plus proche possible de ce qu'a pu être cette "Noire de Lyon".

Dark brown colour with ruby highlights, a big frothy beige head, good retention and foamy patches left on the glass. Roasted malt base with hints of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits - all balanced with some minty herbal hops. The mouthfeel is fairly thin for a porter with some mild dryness in the end. A touch of tart is left on the tongue. Roasted barley base flavour with some woody hints, banana-wheat and bigger grassiness building in the finish. A thin porter with a touch more hops and wheat.
