For an altbier this really missed the mark! It has a dark copper appearance, too malty (reminded me of dog food) and the mouthfeel is just too syrupy. Flavor is nothing to write home about.

On tap at La Rustica in Lippstadt. Pours clear amber with copper hues and tan head. The aroma is sort of spicy with hops followed by toasted bread, a thin ribbon of caramel candy and a faint hop earthiness. The taste is very similar and a bit on the lively side with mild spicy hops and earthy hops mixing with roasted malts, toasted wheat bread and caramel candy. Nice Alt.

From bottle, probably dark brown. Small head? Aroma is malt. Caramel, metal?. Taste is the same, sweet, bitter. Not bad

Purchased frankenheim alt glasses to go with this one. Nice glasses! The beer is so,so.Had a beautiful brown color, nice bubbles rising up throught the beer. Nice head that faded quickly. Had a slight oxydized flavor to it, pretty standard for most import brews. Nice bready yeasty aroma.Kinda thin, not alot happenin. Nuthin special.

Had this early morning and tasted great. Nice ruby color, nice sweet taste and easy palette. Good breakfast beer if you don't have business to attend that day.

500 ml bottle. Poured in a 0.25 l Altbier glass a clear mahogany or ruby brown colored Alt with a one finger slight beige foamy head that had a short retention. Active carbonation. Poor lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, notes of caramel. The flavour is roasted malts, hints of licorice. The mouthfeel is slight crispy and a roasty watery syrup. This medium bodied Alt has a bitter and roasted malty finish. A non expected deception.

Bottle, 4.8% ABV, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Cognac to deep amber colour, moderate off-white head. Distinct aroma of wort, malts and rye bread. The flavour is dominant malty with notes of brown bread, low bitterness. Nice.

Amberish brown colour with small off-white head. Aroma is malts, earth and hops with some metallic and plastic hints. Flavour is malts, slight fruits and fresh wood. Aftertaste and finish are quite bitterish, but still balanced up with caramel. A quite pleasant altbier.
