Whilst contemplating a refreshing, unique, botanical libation, we noticed something in the room that smelled great. Someone had hibiscus tea. Hey, we thought, let?s make a beer with this. The flow began: ?I read an article?? and ?Did you ever try?? and ?What if we add?? Yes, we said. Then we were done. In about 12 Minutes, the Destiny of this beautiful beer was cast.

The beer pours a translucent copper colour with a bubbly head which doesn’t last very long. Lacing is erratic at best. The aroma is raspberry forward with hints of grass, hibiscus, and herbal hops in the background. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is kind of tart, in contrast to the sweet raspberry aroma. There are hints of biscuit malt and hibiscus followed by a light bitter finish. -

6-pack at the LCBO. Pours a cloudy orange-red-pink colour with a white cap and some slight pink hue to it. Long lasting with creamy lacing. Fruity raspberry aromas with some nice sweetness and light sourness. The starts of a little fruity, but not real sweet and with just a touch of sourness. This turns into a grainy finish with some dryness and yeast. I really enjoyed the Hibiscus from Dieu du Ciel, so was looking forward to this one. Pretty good, but wish it was a little stronger in alcohol to have more flavours in the end, lingering.

On tap at Arrow and Loon. Beer menu shows 4.1%abv. Pours no head whatsoever. Appearance sort of looks like Kool-Aid, or almost like fruit juice. Excessive carbonation. Aromas are quite fruity, lots of tropical fruits. Flavours are very sweet and fruity, again with the tropical fruits and a little bit of sourness as well. Full bodied mouthfeel. Sort of a fizzy sensation on the palate. The finish kinda resembles sangria or something of the sort. Weird this one.
