I want to give it lower numbers than I do, but I cannot fault this beer. Obviously it is really sweet and fruity, but thats exactly what this is. It is not like Lost Coast Tangerine, tasting like orange crush, and its not like Unibroue Ephemere, a subtle champagne like complex beverage. Its a whole different beast. Thick and viscous, very real tasting/smelling mango and passion fruit (Ninkeberry. Its got some tart apple showing up here and there, some lychee (like in bubble tea). Its quite tangy but not it a soda pop kinda way, more like fresh tropical fruit juice. There is some wheat going on in the palate and some kind of yeast....not a heavy sourdough, and not a subtle chamgane, and not a spicy belgian.. by process of elimination, its alomst like a pilsner yeast... this beer is obviously sweet and girly, but it is actually very original and made expertly.

Fruit beers are far tyoo popular and prevalent than they should be. I'm not always convinced that they are better than the 'yellow fizzy beer'. This was no different. Beer shouldn't be pink.

330ml bottle
3.5% ABV
I tried this beer on September 2, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The bottle looked and felt more like a 250ml bottle than a 330ml bottle. The beer poured a hazy golden pink colour with a fizzy short-lived head. The aroma was very fruity with mango very apparent. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, with medium-high carbonation. The flavour was sweet in a fruity sense (as opposed to the artificial sweetness in a Wittekerke Rose) with a little malt in the taste.
After reading the plethora of reviews from Canadian based beerpals, one has to wonder if it's available stateside (not that they're missing anything). -

Bottled@home (BBE 05/2008). Colour is slightly hazy golden and the beer has a small off-white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, some sugary sweetness as well as mild notes of zest. Flavour is tropical fruits with a rather big sweetness that stays on for a while. Refreshing, though quite artificial.

Poured out a cloudy, slightly weak apricot colour with some white head, ok retention, nice ropy lacing. The aroma is unreal! Simply incredible. I don't know what a Ninkeberry is but that hardly matters here. Seems warm, viscous and the fruit seems to be a cross between guava, lichi nuts, orange, and pineapple. The taste is odd and does not carry the aroma to the taste. A thick, dark, not quite tangy fruit flavor. I noticed the soft wheat. A very unique fruit flavor that is not oversweet. Smooth and slightly viscous with very fine effervesance. Finishes sweet with the dryness keeping it from being horribly sweet. I loved this beer but I cannot see myself drinking more than one in a row.

Tropical aroma in a nice golden "robe" very light bodied and a quite strong tropical "cooler" flavor.Very low bitterness, that beer could definitely appeal to heavy juice drinker who don't like bitterness...

Newly recieved at the LCBO, best before date is May 2008. Pours a hazy golden colour with a small white head. This one does not last long, but leaves a small layer over the brew. Lightly carbonated, this beer has a beautiful nose with all of the fruits mentioned in the ingredients: peach, apricot, mango and passion fruit. The taste is sweet with mostly the peach and passion fruit showing, but some light sourness in the finish mixes everything well. Not much lingers in the aftertaste. Would be even better if the fruit was from purée, and not juices as listed. Not syrupy, so it makes this one a pretty good summer brew.

Cloudy orange pour. Fruit juice galore - a very tropical aroma, lots of sweet and floral fruits in it. Tastes very similar to the nose, a nice mixture of mango, peach and a few others. The sweetness compliments the wheaty backbone quite well. As a fan of fruit beers I liked it, even if it did seem a little artificial.

330 ml brown bottle with gold foil covering the cap, best before date clipped into back label. Very sweet and fruity beer (closer to a cooler). Slightly hazy peach/orange coloured beer with good carbonation and a nice short white head. Foam slowly recedes to a thin film, leaves some great lacing. Smells of passionfruit, peaches, apricots. Similar fruity tastes of passionfruit, peaches, apricots, and mango. Light mouthfeel, not sweet or sticky. If you don't like fruit beers, probably wouldn't like this one.

This stuff looks dirty orange / yellow and was slightly cloudy, and it had nothing for a cap. Peach is the most potent smell along with several other fruits, and a floral scent was also noticeable . This taste like fruit punch just like every other person describes it. It reminds my of the non-alcoholic sparkling wine you give to kids at Christmas. Its very tangy and tickles your tung and is thick like syrup. Not a bad beverage, very tasty and refreshing but I don't know if I'd call it a beer, at least other fruit beers have a beer like taste to it this was just sparkling fruit juice, perfect for long hot summer days while watching your Ally Mc Beal box set of dvd's.
