This brew is a good example of what happens when old mother nature gets mad. Angry Planet is made with organic American 2-row, C60 and Munich malts. Featuring Cascade hops, with a large dry hop addition. An aroma of citrus and light toast. A nice flavorful punch of citrus hop is balanced by slight caramel sweetness and plays off on the hop bitterness. Pairs well with yak momo, pizza & pad thai.

Pours a amber brown with a nice fluffy white head. Flavor is full bodied but ever so slightly watered. Mouth feel is nice and pleasant. Will have again. Another great brew from Minnesota.

Solid but not exceptional pale ale. This beer poured a bright, clear copper with an enormous head. I’m using my SN Hop Tulip glass and the laser etching is producing a violent stream of bubbles. The aroma is good - dry caramel malt, American hops - but not really exciting. The flavor is fairly dry and there’s a bit of an odd funkiness to it. The mouthfeel is a bit thin. I can’t see going out of my way to get another bottle, but it’s an enjoyable treat for an evening.

This beer is well carbonated as I easily end up with almost four-fingers of pale tan colored froth in my 25cl tulip glass. The beer is a red color with copper highlights and shows a brilliantly clear, red stained, bright copper color when held up to the light. The aroma is quite hoppy, with more citrus than anything and is backed / accentuated by a caramelized malt character. Aromas of tangerines, lychee, bergamot and bright citrus oil define the fruity hop aromatics, while a significant, toasty, biscuit-laden note defines much of the malt character in this beer. While this is certainly hop focused, I like how prominent the malt character still is.
A bit fizzy as it first hits my tongue, notes of lemon zest and cracker like malt are quite noticeable though. After releasing some of the excess carbonation that toasty malt character becomes a bit more prominent as does a biting, clean, hop bitterness that lingers on the tongue in the finish along with a peppery carbonic bite. This beer is a bit too dry in the flavor to capture the expressive hop fruitiness that was notable in the aroma, but it still does manage to evoke flavors of orange zest, a touch of lychee and even a touch of kumquat. The finish has a bit of caramelized malt body to it, as well as a nice malt character that adds a bit of complexity. This is quite easy drinking, even for a 6% abv beer.
This is a nice beer, a touch more malt sweetness in the flavor would have accentuated the fruity p character better, but it would have lost the great drinkability. I am glad I got a good bottle of this!
