Thornton Creek flows down from northern Seattle, south and east through the city and on into Lake Washington. It also gives its name to Thornton Creek Ale, a strong and dark amber brew with a medium body and assertive hop profile. Since 1999 Fish Brewing has donated a portion of the proceeds from sales of Thornton Creek Ale to the Thornton Creek Alliance, an organization of citizens dedicated to the rehabilitation of this once-teeming salmon habitat. The Mighty Fish Brewers use pale, Carastan, and Crystal malts when creating Thornton Creek Ale. However, it is clearly within the Cascadian Pale Ale style with an emphasis on hop flavor and aroma. Its distinctive hop character is imparted by several generous additions of Cascade, Willamette and Chinook hops. If you are a hop lover who is looking for a pale ale with real flavor and character, look no further: Thornton Creek Pale Ale is your pint of choice.
