Brewmaster Matt Brynildson went to the mountain and returned with a vision for a different kind of Session IPA, one that would be brewed and dry hopped with a globetrotting selection of new hop varieties from Europe, New Zealand and North America. He foresaw a beer that would deliver massive hop aromas, a signature malt balance and an empty glass before you knew what hit you. And so the newest member of our Jack IPA family was born.

355 ml bottle, as Firestone Walker Easy Jack IPA, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Nearly clear pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Lovely hoppy aroma of tropical fruits and citrus. The flavour is medium dry with citrussy / grapefruity hops, also hints of tropical fruits, and a fairly bitter finish. Light bodied and refreshing.

Can from a trip to Vermont. A very slight hazed golden colour with a warm cap, average retention and good sticky lacing. Lots of citrus in the nose with grapefruits, but mostly oranges. The taste shows the same. Mild dryness. Quite a nice easy-drinking session IPA.

Of all the session ipa's I've had, I think this is my favorite. Hazy yellow with not much head. Yumm aroma and flavour of citrus fruit, pine, grass and breaded malt. Thin mouthfeel. Great beer to have on a camping weekend by the lake when you koll on next summer to try them all again.

Sampled from bottle. Pours clear gold with a thin white head and nice lace. Bright tropical fruit and C-hop aroma. Very inviting. Pleasantly bitter but the resinous hop flavor overcomes the notes I picked up in the aroma and were hoping were to follow. Still good and quite refreshing.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear straw yellow with a medium creamy white head that goes to a thin film, leaves a little lacing and then almost disappears.
The aroma is very subdued - slightly vegetative, piney, resiny hops.
The flavor is sweet bready malts with some spicy, peppery, piney hops. The mouthfeel is light bodied and a bit watery.
Overall, an OK blandish session IPA. There's almost no nose, it's pretty thin, the flavors are OK but it's a bit on the sweet side. -

Aroma - tropical fruit aroma, dank hops, grassy and herbaceous. No noticeable malt aromas around....right on.
Appearance - clear body, gold in color, 2" white head, medium retention
Mouthfeel - light bodied, medium carbonation, almost feels like a pilsner
Flavor - tropical flavors on the palate, piney power, bready with a clean bitter finish
Overall - high marks for Firestone making a phenomenal 1/2 an IPA, or a APA 1.5..whatever. Affordable, it delivers the hops you'd expect from Firestone, zero flaws, super tasty...damn fine. -

Wonderful aroma of fruity tropical and grassy and spicy hops. A straight yellow pour (but with nice soapy head and lacing) and thin body are uninspiring, but they nailed the aroma and flavor. If the thinness of the body wasn't so extreme, and it didn't nearly look like a pale lager (had nice fluffy head, though) it would be one of the better session IPAs out there. As is, it's good, but thinner than All Day, or Stone, or Lagunitas, or Drakes...
