http://www.brewbound.com/news/fat-cat-beer-company-releases-confession-ipa “Confession™ IPA is brewed using American IPA brewing practices. We feature a combination of hops that give the beer a distinctive but not overpowering hop character. The beer is dry hopped during aging with Cascade hops, providing a citrus presence and earthy aroma. When combined with its malt blend, the hop character is balanced by a slight sweetness with full body flavor in the mouth, said Ray Klimovitz, The Fat Cat Beer Company’s brew master. “The beer features remarkable clarity, a refreshing taste and an exceptionally smooth finish.” Confession™ IPA contains 6.0 percent ABV and uses a combination of 2 Row Base Malt, Caramel Malt and Carapils Malt in addition to Cascade, Centennial and Columbus hops. “We have an outstanding line up of sessionable craft beers and we are overwhelmed by the thousands of beer drinkers who have commented on how much they enjoy drinking our beers but we are always asked if we have an IPA. Well, now we do! We are extremely proud of what Ray has accomplished with our Confession™ IPA,” said Bruce Taub, President of The Fat Cat Beer Company. “We have captured the best of what the IPA style of beer offers to the discriminating craft beer drinker while adhering to our core value to offer full flavored, sessionable craft beer to our customers. And the 16 oz can package is our best yet. Be sure to check out the food pairings we added at the bottom of the can.”

On clearance at ABC Liquor....$1 for the pint. I thought this was West Coast, but noticed from WI...and not very good for an IPA. Flavor is barely a 7...not that well-balance nor aggressively hopped. Aroma has some pine, though kind of musty and wet-dogish. Overall, for a beer, it's not that bad and drinkable...just below average for the style.

Comes out of the can a clear honey-amber with a thick, fine-bubbled pale buff head. Hoppy, sweet and rather fruity aroma is unlike an IPA to me. Where are the hops? Flavor, though, is fairly hoppy, with malty and fruity notes, sweeter than most IPAs. Smooth, somewhat firm mouthfeel finishes what one must confess is an average ale. Try one anyway.

A bright orange-amber in color with a big sudsy textured off white head rising above. There's some hang time on the head. Mot much lacing. There's not much hops, mostly a malty ale. What hops there is is a light citric. Medium bodied and easily drinkable.
