Dark brown pour with decent head and lacing. Strong aroma of chocolate malt balls...you know those "Whoppers" things that your grandma used to eat when you were a kid. The flavor was strong and rich...chocolate malt balls, some roasty smoke and some bitterness. Bordering on too sweet, but a nice wintertime beer. Like the Railbender, this is interesting. I must seek out more of these Erie beers...they're anything but bland and boring.
