Aug. 2019: 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9.5%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Aroma of spicy Belgian ale yeast, sweetish pilsener malts, and herbal and spicy hops. The flavour is slightly citric and moderately spicy, also with sweet notes of pilsener malts.

Best before date 12-2023. Pours a clean, bright light-yellow colour with a bubbly-soapy white head, average retention and some light foamy lacing spots all-around. Banana-wheat aromas with some alcohol, grassy-hops, straw malts and Belgian yeast, sugars. Thankfully the taste is not as sweet as expected from the nose. Big hop bitterness with the alcohol-warming and grassy-dryness that lingers. Underneath is the rest, straw-banana hints. Gets a touch hazy as it pours. Quite interesting to get such hops in a classic Belgian brew like this.

The beer pours a hazed orange-gold with a weak bubbly head which lasts a few seconds. I would have expected a longer lasting frothier head from a Duvel. The aroma is yeast, candy sugar, tropical fruits, and grains. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, and very well carbonated. The flavour is grains, yeast, and noticeable alcohol. There is a definite alcohol burn as well.
