A smooth classic sweet stout. This dark rich brew is a combination of roasted malts and hops that bring the chocolate and coffee flavors to life.

Strong aroma has a core of roast malt, and an odd but not off-putting fishy note. It pours a chocolate brown with a fairly thick light tan head. Flavor has roast malt and chocolate notes plus a hint of molasses and a snippet of coffee. Texture seems a bit thin for a stout, and not very fizzy. Still, an OK brew.

Last one (out of 4) of their 2013 spring/summer Variety 12-pack purchased in Syracuse, NY. Pours a clean dark brown colour with ruby highlights. The head is big, creamy-foamy, beige, has good retention and dirty lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate milk, mild dark fruits and hints of molasses. Slightly creamy mouthfeel, but mostly wet. The taste is mild (like all of their other brews I have tried), with notes of chocolate, burnt malts, fruits and caramel. Good as an introduction to stouts and like written on the front label below the word "Stout", "Dark and drinkable".

pours a cola color with lots of red highlights with a light tan head and a little lace. The aroma was of roasted grain, dry cocoa, yeast. The taste was fairly bland, consisting of roasted grain and some chalky yeast. The mouthfeel is medium body with low carbonation and it's a bit thin and watery.

Dundees porter seemed better than this. Sampled at a beer tasting party, so things were starting to blend in....but did notice that the balance was off here. Stouts are one of my favorite styles, so when I come across one that is slightly off, I notice. A little too sweet for me, not hopped enough. Kind of a letdown after a nice, dark, mocha-headed appearance. More misses than hits with this brewery.

Aromas of roasted malt, regular appearance, dark body thin head. mouthfeel is thin, flavors of roasted malts, some chocolate bitterness present in the end. Overall a very average stout.
