Beautiful clear golden pour, near perfect white head and ample lacing throughout. Strong ginger and spiced aroma, honey and honeysuckle, some light woods and earthiness. Taste is ginger-forward, spicy, then honey sweet, lightly though, easy finish. Interestingly tasty.

Pretty impressed with this brew. No need to bring up the price, but there it is... Otherwise, the beer was fantastically balanced. Good malt tone, best described as golden, the rice added to the diversity of the malty characteristics without competing or detracting in any ways. The mouthfeel is exciting, with playful notes, the ginger being the driver, while the belgian yeasts add a blonde/coriander/citrus zest tickle to the back of the mouth. I would generally describe the beer as an above average, english inspired ale, with exciting nuance and complexity, while maintaing distinct characteristics of many of the ingredients, particularily a gentle biting ginger aftertaste. I would drink this often if it was half the price. It also raises some concerns in this age of localization, climate change and carbon footprints. Glad someone did it, but as far as philosphy goes, Dogfish Head will always loose points for local inspiration and flavours. Glad someone is out there being this creative though. Good brew.

Merry X-mas from my brother. I even got to share this with him when he passed through here. The spicy flavors and the ginger blend wonderfully together. The carbonation and body is deliciously full. Looks like a standard-issue IPA. A great treat that I will probably never find again.

This beer was quite pleasant, however, if I am being honest about this beer, the story is better than the brew itself. This beer was spicy and sort of tasted like the DFH Sah Tea! I would have it again but I don't know if I would pay for this twice. I think the Sah Tea is better.

i was surprised by actually liking the rice aspect of this beer more than the ginger, which was pretty subdued. at the end of the day, this was one of the DFH beers that comes off as gimmicky, and while it wasn't bad in any sense of the word, why pay $15-20 for a slightly above average beer, which is what this ended up being.

I got a bright translucent orange-red colored ale. A medium sized soapy white head. Some hange time. Settles into an impressive lacing. And soapy film. The aromas are subtle. Some ginger, some grassy notes. The body is light and the smoothness evolves as it warms. The flavors are a cornucopia of ginger, cloves, sweet malt, grassy and citrusy hops. Warmed this is a relaxing, highly drinkable ale.

I have been looking for this brew for sometime now and reviews are mixed but I still can't wait to try this one. Aroma on this fine ale is spicey with some ginger as well as some peppery overtones with some yeastiness and is very saison-esque in my opinion. Appearance is a deep, golden-orange in color with a medium head on top that diminishes to an off-white lacing that adheres to the glass. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with nice complexity as well as some notable balance with a palate that is wet-like but a bit thin. Flavor is full of spices with some ginger root and maybe slight orange peel with some acidic overtones with an aftertaste that is peppery and crisp and a finish that is clean but thin and seems to miss the mark in some regard. Overall, and very interesting brew here and the concept is very creative and I must say Dogfish Head did it again; recommended.

I thought I would drink this bomber with a friend of mine for New Years. Pours a golden/orange color with a bit of cloudiness. Very rich with light ginger and lots of malt up front. Tastes of Strong ginger, pine and malts.

I had this one before and didn't like it - but since it is from Dogfish Head I knew I had to give it another chance. Maybe the bottle I had the first time was from a bum batch. Aroma is strong and yeasty with an overtone of ginger and a whisper of sweetness. It pours a clear golden amber with a nice, fairly persistent white head that leaves some good lacing. Flavor is malty with hints of ginger, caramel and even - grass? There is also a subtle sweet touch. It is much better than I remembered. Texture is quite fizzy and lively, leaving behind a good persistent tingle and more than a hint of sweet ginger. I am so glad that I decided to revisit this beer and give it a fair shake.
