Dark amber colour, not much head. Aroma is malts, caramel, dry grass and some slight earthyness. Flavour is sour fruits, yeast, earth and slight hints of leather.

Dont know what to expect here, the abv doesnt look so dangerous....color is interesting, a murky leather jacket brown. Mouthfeel that of a stronger beer. Its good and richer than it has to be....This is a hoppy brown ale, its somewhere between that and an american pale. Aroma has chocolatey earthy brown malts. A dark caramelized toasty taste and a kick of piney hops.... A plum like sourness comes thru in a crisp finish. I like it

Very interesting. I've had three other Dick's and loved them so I wanted to give the other three I can find a try. This reminds me of a cross between a Pale Ale and a Porter. I'm not sure it is a Brown as it's not sweet enough (I usually don't like Browns). Pours a dark brown with a rather large white head that lasts a long time and leaves some lacing. Smell is mainly of alcohol, but has some roasted malt scent mixed in there. Taste is, well, like a mix between a Porter and a Pale. Lots of caramelized malt but it's not sweet. There's way too much hop presence for this to be be a Brown. This has some fruit esters as well, most notibly apricot. Mouthfeel is rather thick and full, actually, another sign it's not a Brown. Drinkability is good. This is a nice change from just drinking one style and I'll definately be seeking out more of these.

A very attractive looking beer in my glass, deep almost mahogany brown with a quite substantial and beautiful tan creamy head, goes and leaves excellent lace. The aroma however is barely there, whet there is is malts. Taste also is very light, lightly roasty to semi toffeeish malts, ho hopping discernable. Ok on the palate tending towards the watery, long lastig taste in the finish. Ironically despite and maybe because of its lightness its a topper of a drinker, went down real easy.

Dark brown color, medium head. A medium bodied dark ale. Roasted malts, slightly sweet. Mild flavor, good taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Taste is between pale ale and a porter.

Bottle. Nothing more than a plain, boring black pale ale. Small thin tan head. Nothing to brag about.
