Bottleworks specialty beverage sellers in Seattle commisioned and assisted in the design of this extraordinary beer based on the cult following of our existing Dick’s IPA. We molded that hop lovers fantasy into an industrial ale, bumping it up to a higher alcohol percentage and adding even more hops! We start with a mash tun filled to the brim with Northwest premium 2-row malted barley, intense caramel malts to provide a malt backbone and a touch of chocolate malt for depth and color. An extra long boil is necessary to extract the full potential of the northwest hops we use to the extreme. We make three massive hop charges throughout the boil of a type specially chosen to contribute the maximum bitterness, and intensive flavor and aroma.

eh. this was a little on the thin and sweet side. left my wanting more bitterness, hop aroma and flavor. A BORING ODD AROMA, with a flavor that was simple, but better. decent balance but little hop authority.

Not a bad one at all. Poured a nice orang color with okay head, weak lacing. Aroma was like a pine tree. Flavor was a little overwelmed by the pine hops but could get a little sweetness in there. Not a bad one not top of the list either.

Bottle courtesy Larry Pitonka/5000. Pour was orangey amber in color, ok head, lacing somewhat weak for the style. The aroma was piney hops primarily. The flavor was pine hops, slight sweet malt base under it all. The mouthfeel was slightly syrupy/thick for an IPA, full, moderate carbonation. A nice IPA. Thanks, Andre!

Thanks to eaglefan538 for sharing. Apple juice brown color with decent frothy head. Aroma and flavor of pine and grapefruit. The mouthfeel was very sharp, dry and carbonated. Decent brew.

Pours with a deep amber body topped by a thick, off-white head with good lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and floral with alcohol esters and a touch of citrus. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a medicinal note, a bitter peppery alcohol note and a piney hop note. Full bodied, warming and a touch dry.

A very nice, very rate treat, of an IIPA. My buddy brought this back with him from his recent trip to Washington and it was a nice one. Aroma is the typical IIPA hoppiness with notes of pines and grapefruit bitterness but theres also an underlying earthy note present along with the malty sweetness which gives it a nice balance. Appearance is dark in color, almost like a dirty penny. Flavors were piney, grapefruits but the earthyness also showed up in the flavor as did the sweetness of the malts. Very nicely balanced IIPA IMO.

This imperial IPA pours a very deep cooper color from a 22 oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is earthy, with some floral, piney and grapefruity hops. A medium to full bodied Imperial IPA. Malts are caramel and sweet. Hops are grapefruity, piney and earthy. Nice balance between the sweet caramel malts and all those hops. Smooth taste. Hides the 8.5% alcohol very well. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
