500 ml bottle, from Høkeren, Copenhagen. Batch #RØ156. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. ABV is 5.7%. The cap was not tight enough for my flight from Copenhagen to Stavanger, and about 1/4 of the beer leaked out in my suitcase. Still plenty of carbonation left in the bottle. Murky / opaque very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate tan head. Distinct roasty aroma with strong notes of coffee, also dark chocolate and liquorice, hints of wood and smoke. Medium dry flavour, again with strong notes of coffee, also liquorice, wood and dark bitter chocolate. Also a hoppy bitterness in the finish. Fairly decent beer.

Pours out in an almost black appearance with a rich creamy off-white head. Strong and crisp aroma of licorice and roasted malts with hints of black blackberries, resin, mild pine and blue plums. Medium-bodied with strong notes of tar pastilles, salty licorice, solid dark malts and mild tobacco. Long solid finish of salty licorice, dark malts and tar. Powerful yet simplistic.
