The allusion to the pink elephant a consequence of a delirium tremens the day before, is not a chance. The reasons are multiple: first of all, the beer possesses a degree of high alcohol; and, on the other hand, irresponsible consumers sometimes suffer devastating effects of a too much consumption of alcohol. This beer became the classic of the brewery, appreciated especially for its qualities dégustatives, as well as the mystery that hides itself behind the gray partitions of his characteristic bottle. This blond perfect one stresses the qualities of an exceptional houblon as well as of different clear malts. She offers herself points aiguës bitterness, and unveils to the nose an astonishing malted coat. The conclusion combines a bitter and peppered tone without aggressiveness. She represents strong blond beer under its better appearance. She was sacred champion of the world of beers in 1998.

This beer totally rocks! It is fun, cool, hip, and who could say more about the elephants! The flavour is for real also, a good indicator that marketing and flavour actually can combine.

Draught. Colour - hazed medium gold colour, huge white frothy head, lots of lacing. Aroma - grains, belgian yeast, spices, light fruit. Mouthfeel - full bodied, well carbonated. Flavour - a little bit of tartness in the grain bill, some sweet malt, spices, and a definite Belgian yeast note.

One of the more renowned beers that comes out of Belgium. It pours a dark gold colour, slightly hazy, with a white cap that lingers. The aroma is candy sugar, light fruit, yeast, grains, and some floral hops. The flavour is light sweet fruits, some burnt candy, yeast, and dessert spices. One of the first Belgians I tried over 20 years ago, and one I return to every now and then.

Pours a semi cloudy yellow color with a big foamy head. The aroma is of apple, malt and banana. The taste has a slight heat like from pepper mixed with malt and very light note of banana.

Aroma and appearance wise, it was kind of a let down, only because it was not what I was expecting. The other qualities however - now that's more like it and where the beer redeems itself, and then some. Has that perfect Belgian blend of hopiness and maltiness/sweetness that just seems to work.

Had a pint at Sir John A in Ottawa. Arrived with a thin layer of fizzy foamy head. Golden yellow appearance. Has a mild hoppy aroma with some malts on the back end. Somewhat grassy as well. Flavours are fairly sweet, mostly on the hops side of things. A bit of malts. Some fruits, sorta lemony. Hint of banana and notes of apples and pears. Really tasty that's for sure! Tingling mouthfeel with a bit of tartiness. Pretty darn good stuff.

From Bootlegger (Paris). Towering white head with good retention over a pour of clear, medium gold. Spices and yeast in the aroma. Flavour again with the spices and yeast, plus some fruit notes. THe high ABV (8.5%) was not at the forefront. Mouthfeel just above average. Citrus notes to finish. Lovely bottle, maybe not big enough.

pours a honey color with a very thick foaming white head that lasts forever. The aroma has yeast, a touch of wildflower honey, light wheat malt, and sticky hops. The taste is close to the aroma, although without the honey sweetness, with mild spice and assertive hoppiness. The mouthfeel is medium with nice carbonation which lasts the whole glass.

Light amber yellow color with huge foam strong head. Taste like a tripel, but a bit more fruity. Banana is present which is making it more like a fruit beer. Did not like it at first, but it grows on you. (Utrecht 201203)

It pours a light yellow-gold with a thick and foamy white head and not too much lacing. An aroma of tart apples, lemons and oranges, bananas, rich malts, grapes, vanilla, pears, and mild spiciness. The mouthfeel is thin and watery. Flavors of pears, tart apples, lemons and oranges, bananas, malts, hops, grapes, vanilla, and alcohol and mild spiciness. Excellent .. I love the different fruits in this one ..

Great name, very light version of Belgian ale. Flavor is more like a wheat lager, some sweetness. All in all not all that exciting but is something to try.
