The beer poured a translucent gold colour with a thin white head, and tons of particles. The aroma was lambic with a twist of lemon. The mouthfeel was SOUR! It was light bodied, champagne-like carbonation - and did I mention it was SOUR! The flavour was overwhelimngly lemon with some sour malt as well.
I thought the first mouthful of this was powerful..........little did I know it was the mouthful that was the easiest to tolerate.

Take some lemon lollipops from when you are a kid, and add some alcohol, and voila, you have the Chapeau de Troch Lemon. The lemon was overpowering, and all I could think of was lemon lollipops from the 1940s...with a dash of alcohol to give them an 'adult' taste. If you want a REAL lambic, this is to be avoided.

Hazed gold, smallish cap, overpowering citrus aroma with a bit of muskiness. Tastes like lemonade with a funky back taste to it. I always maintained that lemons and beer don’t mix well, this confirms it. Not one of my favorite lambic blends

Purchase at the LCBO as a seasonal offering, and second Chapeau de Troch brew tonight. Best before date on back label reads: 06/02/10. Pours a golden-beige colour with a smaller white head (than their Kriek). This one is creamy though, and has pretty nice thick lacing all around. Again, big bubble carbonation. The nose has the lemon promised in the name, but also, hints of oranges and apricots. Man, is this one ever sour ! A lambic is already sour enough, and now, you add lemon juice in it.... waaaa ! Some biscuit malt is left in the aftertaste, but very little. Reminds me a bit of when lemon juice goes bad (at first, when left in the fridge too long). Slightly tart mouthfeel. Definitely for those who like it sour.

Bottle: Poured a golden color beer with a small bubby head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma of tart notes with huge lemon syrup which I don’t really know what to make of. Taste consists of huge lemony syrup which is nothing close to actual lemon with some light tart notes. Zit is a weird experiment after all and one that could have provided worse results. Totally untraditional but somewhat drinkable afterall.

Ugh, the lemon! The only thing that wasn't lemon was the appearance - copper-bronze colour with some white cap. It's got lemon aroma, lemon flavouring and especially lemon bitterness. Too much for me, I couldn't finish it - this is coming from a guy who will actually eat lemons like an orange. It might work in theory, but I'm not sure if mixing a sour fruit with a sour style works in practice all that well...
