Boy, this label thing on these imports drives me crazy. First I thought this was the 3.5, then I looked at the label fine print to see no alky rating what so ever. Then I cruised the website to find a dortmunder actien-brauerei label that matched up to my bottle. Sometimes there is no picture and then it is really a guessing game! In the fine print it says it is original dortmunder premium lager, the beer of world fame. So I check to see which of these beers is the most popular, that is how I located it. Oh, now I see where the DAB comes from! I just finished a bitberger, so this is a good time to compare. Anyway, this is a lager that falls under the style of classic german pilsner because I can see the label is the correct one in the avatar. Does anybody remember the Dab girls of 2 decades ago? She was the one that made me take my first taste of dab. She kind of reminds me of the Norton girl of the 70s. This is a 12 oz green bottle. Pop the lid for an aroma of slight skunk cabbage with a strong background of yeast. Pours light brown yellow with a whitish head that hangs for a few minutes. Again, these german classics have a bitterness to them that may attract pale ale fans. Similar to bitburger and stout pils. All three of these beers in this style taste the same to me, and I guess they should. This would make them a credit to the style. Who says lagers are not as creative as the ales? I am surprised to see this beer does not rate as high as bitburger, because it has about the same amount of mischievousness. The color of this lager hides the ungentle manlike behavior of the beer. Finish does have a slight bitter linger that hangs loose for a few minutes.

50cl can in Sliema, Malta. Pours clear golden with a white head. Lightly malty aroma, reminds me more of a pale lager. Sweet and lightly malty with a noticable bitteneness in the finish. Didn’t like it much the first time i tried and it seems my feelings haven’t changed much. Drinkable, but far from my prefered choice. (2012-09-25)

Pale yellow to light gold color. White frothy head, which hangs around. Subtle aroma of malt. Nice rounded mouth feel, some hints of honey or even a subtle toasty grain sweetness. Hop flavor comes through as hay-like or slightly grassy. Not overly bitter; the malty finish gives it a sweeter balance than bitter, but not overly so. A good session beer

Pours a fairly big foamy bubbly head and has a clear yellowish/golden appearance. Patchy lacing. Aromas of wheats, grains and malts. Flavours are mainly malty and wheaty with notes of light herbal hops. Has a good balance between hops and malts. Crisp and slightly bitter mouthfeel. Not too bad for a cheap import beer. Could be another party-type beer (cheap and easy to drink, but more flavour than a Coors!) :)

Pale yellow pour with a monster white head which left a thick amount of lace on the glass. Fair amount of carbonation with grassy and citrus taste. Minimal amount of hops but decent enough. No need to try again.

pours a straw yellow body with a touch of haze and a creamy white foam and little lacing. The aroma is clean slightly sweet aroma of green sulfur has a flint note to it and some freshly crushed pils malt comes through in the finish and grows. The taste is fresh pils malt flavor has hints of honey malt and a dry finish with a slightly sweet sulfur green hop flavor that lingers only for a moment. The mouthfeel has a light crisp mouthfeel with a tight fizz. Overall this is very easy to drink by the liter.

Much better than I was expecting stealing some gulps from a buddies can on the deck. REally cold, really crisp, good really enjoyableable tingly carbonation. Bicuit/cookie like but not at all like carmel, like a shortbread. Lemon and other hop characteristics, dry and nice. good beach beer I think...

500 ml can, bought in Spain. ABV is 5%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, big white head. Sweetish and grassy aroma, some floral notes too. The flavour has a very moderate malty sweetness, with a tolerable hoppy bitterness throughout. Not exceptional, but decent.

This beer pours a clear dark gold colour with a huge white head. The head disappears quickly. The aroma consisted of grainy malt, and some citrusy hops. The flavour was similar with the hoppish presence being stronger.
