Can courtesy of Keith (thanks for the pile of dirt man) pouring up nice and dark with dark red hues mixing with darker mahogany and mocha like head. The aroma is pushing out plenty of notes of dark roasted malts, burnt malts and a touch of cherry like esters. The taste is mostly roasty malts and a nice load of dark roasty to burnt malts and a bit of chocolate malts. Yummy stuff.

A South Dakota beer thanks to The Pfoxyjohn! Thinnish black-brown pour with a tight short-lived beige head which leaves big lines of lacing with every taste. Rich aromas of cocoa, some java, a bit of molasses, roasted malts and more chocolate. Taste is rich and near creamy, big on the bittersweet chocolate and light on the coffee, some nice toasted malt goodness, sweetness from the malts and a molasses like quality. Big nice rich porter. Very very worthy. SD has done itself well with this one! Huge thanks to John for this one and now South Dakota is marked off - never thought I'd say that.

Pours thick, looks slightly like a good root beer. Smell is roasty, some coffee and sweetness. A light to medium body, not bad mouthfeel, picks up some richness from the flavor. Lots of burnt/highly roasted malts on the tongue, some smoke and chocolate as well. A bit of a hop bite on the end helps this beer finish clean. It is a bit week in the body for me, too thin, and the roasted malts are a bit over done in my opinion, almost a burnt taste.
