Crooked Creek no. 2 from kinger; great label!: Interesting ruby dark tea brown pour - light for a porter - with a decent off-white head, decent lacing also. Lightly roasted malt and cocoa aroma, with a dose of sweet honey-like malts, hint of nuttiness. Thin mouthfeel - thinner than most porters. Taste is inviting enough: light toasted malts, noticeable chocolate flavor, weak on the hops, still tasty though, just not a "porter" flavor I'm used to. Thanks Cory - I dug this beer as a Brown, but it is a bit thin as a porter.

Skepticle on this one, awefully red for a porter. Smells right though, mild creamy roast notes and nut flavors. Fizzy light mouth that is not true to style. Flavor isn't bad but slightly sour, otherwise nice light roast porter.

Caught between English style Porter & Brown Ale, it's a rather enjoyable brew if you aren't firm on expecting a hearty robust porter. Amber brown pour with a medium sized khaki head and splotchy lacing. Buttered toast, rich toffee, raisin and fresh roast coffee are all aligned for a mild bodied ale. Balanced and medium bodied (light for a porter) with a slighly sweet finish and clean aftertaste. Around these parts Old Leghumper and Edmund Fitzgerald rule the realm of the Porters so this mule can easily be overlooked. Solid beer once you get accustomed to what it offers compared to the regular locals already mentioned.

Eclipse black color. Small sized tan head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. Hops are spicy. Nicely balanced porter. Not to heavy or too thin. Nice balance between the hops and malts as well. Mostly medium sweet chocolate flavors. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Nice, rocky, creamy head. OK lace. Nutty, chocolate taste. Nice, full body. Lingering bitterness. A little tingle to the tongue. Enjoyed this beer very much.

Being a dark beer lover, I was very pleased with this brew. It was smooth as silk going down and had a nice, rich almost chocolate flavor, with an enjoyable after taste. The head stood tall and creamy and for the price - what a deal!
