Sampled on 8/17/11 at Beer Revolution. This smoked beer pours a dark black color from the tap. Medium to small sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is malt, smoke, fruit and coffee. A medium bodied smoked beer. The malts are fruity, caramel, chocolate and coffee. The hops are earthy and herbal. Nice balance. Decent carbonation. Nice mild smoky flavor throughout. More smoke in the aroma than in the taste. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

I received this on Friday in a trade with a friend in La Jolla (6 California beer for some French Wines). This is another black beer, not sure I know what I am getting myself into to. The head lasted a while, longer than I thought it would. The aroma was 'smoky'. Almost a 'burnt' feel to it. The taste was similar to the aroma. There was the flavor of burnt sugar on the tongue. A nice beer, but not a great beer.

Pours with a dark brown body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet, malty and caramelly with a slight roastiness. The flavor is a little weak but very similar to the aroma. Medium bodied and smooth.
