Comes out of the tap rich coffee brown with a thick and fine-bubbled tan head. Smoky aroma has roast malt, quality coffee, and chocolate notes. Flavor has earthy, peaty, malty, chocolate, and coffee notes, almost more stout than Porter, very drinkable and enjoyable. Texture is quite fizzy, if not too firm. Worthy if you are in Athens at the right time.

This was a very nice beer to warm up to. After searching all of athens for this place, (haha), we finally found it and this was the obvious first choice. The menu at the brewery said carmel smoked porter, but i assume this is one and the same. The carmel flavor and aroma was nice and thick. There were awesome smoked and roasted malts. I thought it was balanced well. None of the acidity or astringency you can get with smoked porters. The roasted malts and carmel flavors really rounded this one out. Very fine brew indeed.

Black with ruby around the edges. Large, dense light tan head. The aroma is chock full of roast, with a bit of smokiness just underneath.. The flavor is that of not-quite burnt toast. There’s a slight hop bitterness in the finish that turns a little harsh with the dark malts toward the end. The harshness that arrives as the beer warms is really its only flaw. Awesome porter.
