Poured a nice amber color until the sediment came out of the bottle, then it turned into a dark murky looking sort of swamp water. No head at all to speak of. Hints of fruit are present along with carmel. Had a hard time finishing this one.

Nice deep tea brown pour with a tight off-white head and ridges of lacing throughout. Heavy aromas of ripe fruits, sweet heavy malts, toffee, slight alcohol, earthy hopness. Taste is rich and smooth with ripe heavy fruits, toffee, creamy, with a the hops lingering along with the alcohol in the finish. Nicely done; Coopers big beers are quite nice.

18 months! I take your 18 months and add 3.5 years!!! That or Beercronic thought it was a good idea to send me a 2007 vintage in a beer trade in 2011. Well at least I know it was well cellared. I know this beer was great, its obvious in the aroma, it has held up suprisingly well. Liquorice, Dense rotten oranges, over ripe plums, carmel and crystal malts. Pour released zero carbonation of any kind. The beer drinks easily, though there is a slight powdered dish detergent wiff that I got at some point, but it might have been from the kitchen. Its like brooklyns monster ale, only with a really lovely alcohol balance and a bit more of a yeast character. Brown sugar shows up more and more as it warms. i dont know how to give this beer numbers. I can tell it was really really good, but in its current state its only good. Ridiculously smooth, just drops down the hatch.

The beer pours a dark amber color with a nice head. There are floaties throughout when held up to the light. It’s a fairly murky beer. The smell is strong with some sweetness and ethanol. It’s somewhat reminiscent of maple syrup with a bit of fruit. Despite this sweetness, the taste carries a fair amount of bitterness, as well. The flavor doesn’t quite balance out ultimately, and the alcohol also shows up a bit much. It’s a strong beer that drinks even less smoothly than it’s abv of 7.5% would suggest. There is a good deal of carbonation, a bit bracing when paired with the bitter notes. I enjoyed the beer but probably wouldn’t buy it again.

Bottle: Poured a amber color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of sugar and light subtle fruity ester with nice dry caramel malt balance. Taste is a well balanced mix between some caramelized sugar with great note light dry raisins. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well done though additional complexity could have benefited this beer.

2007 Vintage. Killin' to Zero The Hero!!! - song is awesome. Cannibal Corpse version is pretty fine too.
Poured out a decent, slightly hazy burnt orange brew with almost zero head produced, and that is too bad. The aroma early on is quite forgettable but if you let this sucker warm, that's when all the goodness comes out: mild toffee, pears and apricots, berries, oak, slight smoke, biscuit and alcohol. Early on the taste is pretty much brutal and totally unpleasant but once I let it warm and got used to the flavors that exist i enjoyed it more. Still strong with alcohol, too much actually, but once I get past that i find instant bitterness, licorice, quite malty and a bit of chocolate, which I swear I thought I had found in the aroma once or twice. The mouth feel is nothing great as the thickness of the beer is lacking for what I wanted but it does have a good swish. Early on it finishes very harsh, later on it is very smooth with a soft aftertaste. WARM LOTS!!! This beer is ass when cooler. -

Sampled bottle, at the Great British Beer Festival (GBBF) 2008. Copper coloured beer. The aroma and flavour are very malty, alcoholic and oaky. Clearly a craft beer though.

(2007 Edition) Cloudy burnt orange body will I guess it’s really more brown, with zero cap I mean not even a single bubble floating on top. Where the hell are all the bubbles??? Aroma is impressing me, mild alc, bubble gum, wood, figs. It’s all very nice smelling but a touch on the mild side. Taste is very smooth but a little on the sweet side for my liking and has way to much alcohol is showing up in the finish for only 7.5%. There is a slight vanilla flavour or possibly rye. Cherry also starts to be noticed in the bottom half of the glass. Mouth feel seems soft. I normally love this style of beer but this one just isn’t doing it for me, it’s too sweet and syrupy but does remain drinkable.

Murky brown pour, thin/filmy off white head, and little bits of lacing around the glass. Strong bourbon scent followed by cocoa and coffee undertones with a bit of banana. Great aroma that is warming and unique. Medium bodied and smooth with a sturdy poignant aftertaste. Lots of deep malt flavors in this treat. Breads and nuts along with toffee and caramel. Mild bourbon flavor to mimic the aroma coupled by a yeasty banana taste and finished with a touch of vanilla. Wonderful and unique creation, a great strong ale that I'd like a few more of.

There are no indications of year/date on the bottle, so I have no idea exactly how "vintage" this is. Nevertheless, this is probably the best beer I have ever had to accompany my lunch. Poured a solid orange with copper hints and a palest of pale tan head. Smells like malts and grass. Tastes pretty much the same, with the addition of some touches of caramel, and the slightest bit of chocolate. There is quite a bit of hoppy bitterness (mildly citrus) arising at the end. Overall, this is an outstanding beer for the price. I will have to seek more of these out.
